Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Should you have the unfortunate pleasure of being in West Frankfort, the least you can do for yourself is head over to La Fiesta and grab some of the best damn Mexican food you'll ever eat. Order up come white queso dip and a Dos Equis (on tap!) and take a long, hard gander at the menu because the options are seemingly endless. I really had a hard time deciding, but was feeling frisky, so I went with the BURRITOS MEXICANOS, as if there were any other kind. Since there are two, I figured they'd be small and I wouldn't spoil my dinner plans for later in the evening. Umm yeah, that dinner never happened because these two burritos were mind-numbingly large for the price. I've never seen so much damn chicken stuffed into a tortilla before. And while eating these things, I KNEW that I shouldn't have been trying to take them both down, but the flavor was so good and I couldn't stop. When I left, my stomach surly felt betrayed, but the pleasure censors in my mind were contended. Service was great as well. You could tell English wasn't our waiter's first language, but we had La Chica with us, so she was kind enough to relax the gentleman by speaking Spanish. It was obvious that he appreciated that. Definite must visit while in West Frankfort.

La Fiesta is definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant in Southern Illinois, and this review goes for both the West Frankfort and Marion locations as I have had pleasant experiences at both. The waiters have always been friendly and the food is always cooked hot and fresh when you order it. I always go with either the chicken burrito, fajitas, or chicken/shrimp on the beach (with extra beach because I love rice) and I have not been disappointed once at La Fiesta. The prices are definitely comparable to other Mexican restaurants in the area but those other places don't treat you as well as La Fiesta does. Worth checking out if you're in the mood for some Mexican cuisine.

Awesome fresh food. Great wait staff. Colorful and pleasant surroundings. Very decent prices--and lots of food! This is truly a good place to eat, and it's very easy to find, right off I-57 exit 65.

Can't understand the previous high grade....this is food with no taste.......this is "stomach filler", just hope you don't get sick......I was here a year ago so maybe it has improved but I doubt it.

Excellent food!! Great vegetarian options, my mom loved the mushroom quesedilla, and I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken encheladas. Better than reasonable pricing! And it's right off Hwy I-57! Definately worth a stop :)
